Lost in love

I'm single I've been single for awhile now and out of nowhere my ex comes back into my life asking me for help to become a better person so I said why me and he told me because I don't care if he's rich or not and that I keep real but long story short we got a little fight couple nights ago and he said why didn't you fix the mistakes we could of been together get your shit together...and I said why what's the point your not gonna leave your girlfriend so why even bother and then he said just do it and see what's happens ...and I told him to stop leaving me ..I'm beyond confused does he want me back ? And I can't ask him because he won't tell me ..I just don't know what to do anymore what should I do ?
