When to take a pregnancy test for a (VERY) irregular period.

Question

My cycle varies a lot-- sometimes 38 days, sometimes 80 days. My husband and I just started trying to conceive the past 2 months  and recently I have been having a lot of symptoms of being pregnant. But when should I take a pregnancy test in order for it to be accurate?

My cycles were crazy long and irregular, I used opks to track my ovulation, then without fail I would get my period within two weeks of the positive test (or you would wait two weeks and pregnancy test). I also recommend tracking your basal body temperature, it's really interesting and helps confirm ovulation as well. Also both months I got pregnant I was using vitex (agnus castus) it's a herb and it helped regulate my cycles loads. Vitamin B6 is also great for regulating hormones and I used that to get pregnant this time (am currently 8 weeks)

I have extremely irrational cycles 21-150+ days. If i feel symptoms i test every two weeks until af shows.

My periods are VERY irregular! I've had 3 periods this year ! 
So I track ovulation and then I go from how many dpo .. start testing at 10dpo to 13/14 dpo and if it's negative then I take that as I'm out of the game! 
As this month my period is 'due tomorrow' 101% it won't come :) I just wait to when it was meant to finish then start tracking ovulation x
