Not for any astrological or superstitious reason. Nostalgia. When I was little there was a partial solar eclipse and my father let us look at it using his welding helmet. Best dad ever award 😭

I'm in Salem, Oregon. The news has been going on and on for weeks saying we're gonna be over run with visitors starting Friday night, no gas left, no food left.  It's now Saturday,the roads are almost completely empty, we have more than enough gas and the grocery stores are fully stocked.....im so ready to quit hearing about it.

I mean, I care in that I think it's awesome, but I don't care about the superstitions surrounding it and pregnancy.

With over a million people on their way to charleston,sc area Im so ready for it to be over. 10min rides up the street are already taking hr. Stocked up on everything these kids could want till tuesday its a mad house of traffic.

I really wish I could go see it. My husband's uncle lives in Idaho in prime viewing spot and offered to let us stay. But there's no way I could do a road trip right now, I'm 10w5d pregnant. Too nauseous and we'd have to stop every hour so I could go pee. It would be miserable.

It's cool. But I didn't spend money on glasses to look at it. My sister brought us some from work yesterday. But I actually can't wait until it's over so life can go on.
