Marijuana use during pregnancy ?

Ok so I have extreme anxiety and insomnia which has worsened since I found out I'm pregnant. I quit taking my normal anxiety medicine due to the risks. I used to smoke marijuana before bed and it helped me sleep but have quit since learning I'm pregnant. It is legal where I live. I do have a script. But nobody can really tell me if this is safe during pregnancy? I know smoking in general is frowned on.. but is weed any different? I haven't been smoking but today has been really bad and I have yet to get more than 3 hours of rest. I just need some relief! I don't know what to do anymore. Any of you ladies use marijuana during pregnancy? Does anyone know the risks associated with this? Opinions?

I'm a medical marijuana user, and I quit cold turkey. It's been hard, but doing things like meditating and taking time to myself more often has helped. The problems with smoking marijuana are these; 
one) inhalation of smoke of any kind can be damaging.
two) there isn't enough research to say it's okay either way, some say it can cause problems that are unforeseeable down the road like add and other mental disorders.
three) if you continue to test positive throughout pregnancy, even in a legs state, they will start to report you, and if your child comes out with it in their system cps will be involved- it's not federally legal, so in some cases babies have been taken away for testing positive.
Quit while you can. Talk to your doctor about other ways to help your issues. I wish I could say it's different- especially, because I am a patient- it just isn't worth it, though. 
I can tell you it gets better the longer you go. I'm 14 weeks off now, and it's getting better.

I don't know the risks and I don't smoke marijuana. The only thing I wanted to mention was although it is legal where you are, I would still look into if it's legal why pregnant. I only say that because for my doctors I am blood tested for ALL drugs in the start of my pregnancy and at the end of my pregnancy. So you just may want to look into if that's the case for you also even if marijuana is legal. Good luck with everything, I know how crippling anxiety can be, let alone when you're pregnant.

Pregnancy is hard. But you have to be strong for your baby. Look into healthy alternatives.

I know a person who smoke marijuana throughout her whole 3 pregnancys and they are smart kids and healthy and they all came out fine had no issues!! Maybe it just depends on body!!

We had a lady in NICU once who went into preterm labor and delivered a 23 week old. The only thing she had done different was smoke some weed so she was convinced that’s what caused it. I can’t really say. I don’t think there’s been any research done with pregnant women.

I guess forced to use it during my last pregnancy, if I hadn't I would've ended up in the hospital on multiple occasions. My doctor didn't have an issue with it as long as I stopped in the second trimester. She said if it was helping me eat and keep water down then keep using it, but once I reached my second trimester I should stop because there's no real study on it. I ended miscarrying and finding out that the reason I was so sick was I had a partial molar pregnancy which is basically a tumor baby.. I'm now 6 weeks and have been cutting back on smoking pot but I still need it to help control my nausea since the PMP has completely messed up my body and I can hardly eat anymore without feeling super sick. but I plan to stop soon. However I would definitely discuss it with your doctor, they are much more knowledgeable about these kind of things and if they don't want you using it then they'll tell you.
