(Future)MIL Doesn't Understand Boundries
My boyfriend is a disabled veteran & currently looking for a job to bring some more money in since we have a little girl due in December. He is the oldest child (28) & has lived on his own since getting out of the Army. His mom is excited about having her first grandchild, especially now that she knows it's a girl (she had 4 boys). But she hounds my boyfriend so bad about not being able to find a job it's starting to piss me off. She usually up pretty early, but will start in about 3am everyday sending my boyfriend links to online applications. One right after the other. His phone goes off so much that it wakes us up so we both have to turn our cell phones off at night because if she doesn't feel like he's receiving them she'll send them to me. She's always hounding us about money. She'll call the middle of the month & ask unneeded questions that I think are NONE of her business like:
"how much do you have in your account?"
"Well why is it that low this month?"
"Well did you save any for the baby fund?"
"Good how much did you put in?"
"Well why only that much?"
"Well how many groceries do you need to buy?"
"You couldn't have waited until next month to fix the brakes on your car?"
"Well why not? How much did that cost you?"
Sad part is that I'm not even kidding! She will ask all of these questions & expect either my boyfriend or I to answer her. Not ONCE have we ever gone to her to ask for money for anything so I have a hard time understanding why she's so interested in our finances or why it's any of her business. We recently had to rehome our dog because we're moving out of state & cant take him. When she found out she asked us if we had just given him away or asked for a rehoming fee. He told her we asked for a rehoming fee to weed out the people who weren't going to take care of him. She shoots back with "well how much did you get? You better save all that money. Don't spend any of it. Put it all away." Like excuse you. No. We're adults & perfectly capable of handling our own finances! It's not like we don't pay our bills or don't get groceries. We've NEVER been late on a bill.
I'm so annoyed with her...
