Breastfeeding as birth control

Hi mamas

I have been doing some research about BC and breastfeeding.

I have a 4 month old and my husband and I decided to use condoms and for me not to go on BC.

After reading lots of articles majority of them state if you are BF and getting up in the night to feed and babe is under 6 months you can't get pregnant.

I am wondering how true this is ?

My period has not returned yet. But I am noticing my CM coming back and looks pretty ewcm - would I be ovulating ?

I do not want to get pregnant! So I want to avoid the time of the month when that could happen
