Possibly pregnant after miscarriage

I posted this is the general ttc but I think you ladies probably will be able to help me more or at least relate to this process. I had a miscarriage July 21st I was 6weeks. I bled for 2 weeks. As soon as I stopped bleeding we started ttc again. I got my cycle at the expected time in august 9th-12th. I took a pregnancy test after my cycle to make sure my levels were at zero so and it was negative. I just finished my ovulation window and had some spotting, I took a test and it came back positive. So long story short was the neg test a false neg and I still have The hormone from the miscarriage in my system and that's why I'm getting a positive test now? Hope this makes sense.
