So I'm a teacher and though I'm on maternity leave I hear lots of gossip through the grape vine which has me thinking...

Do you care how your child's teacher conducts their personal life outside of school? What if those behaviours were brought into the school environment?

Here's two examples. I have been with my common law partner for 5 years, we own a condo together and we have a 9 month old daughter. I felt very judged at work by parents for "having a child out of wedlock" and even had a student berating me asking where my husband is and how I could be having a baby without a husband... now I don't consider myself to be an individual who isn't a good role model but marriage just wasn't a priority for us, especially the wedding part. Would this offend you as a parent if I were to teach your child?

Second example... here's the gossip part: so I have a colleague who was married and last year it came out that he was having an affair with another colleague (they were both married) and now they are getting a divorce so they can be together. He had pictures of them together littering his desk so he was quite public about it. Now this week there's word that another teacher who just moved to our school was also having an affair with him but he broke it off and she moved to our school to "win him back".:.

How would you feel about this type of situation at your child's school? Should their be ramifications?
