Confused?

I have PCOS and me and my husband are not using birth control of any sort at the moment. I was suppose to get my period at the beginning of the month and it didn't happen. The following week I had some brown spotting looking blood when I wiped after going to the bathroom and that was it. I didn't bleed anymore. I have had cramping and loose stools for a few weeks, very sensitive nipples. Should I take a test or could this just be me having period symptoms without bleeding? My cycles are usually 28 days sometimes just depends on if I get my period. I had my period last month but nothing so far this month.
