successful vba2c?

Question

So I've asked multiple doctors about having a vbac, and 3 of them said they think I would be a good candidate to do it. One doesn't want me to because he's worried about my uterus rupturing. should I still do a vbac or let the one doc talk me out of it? what was your experience with a vbac?

I just had my second child last week and I tried very hard to have a vbac, labor went well but I was unable to push him out because of my narrow pelvis. If you want to try and have a vbac then you should go for it! They will monitor you closely and if anything you will end up needing another c-section. I don't regret trying a vbac at all.

I just had a sucessful VBAC on Sunday. It was almost four years since my c-section so that helped a little. My two cents are just research it a lot, and if you really want to try a VBAC, find a provider that will support your decision and work with you. Don't let one provider talk you out of it. With a VBAC, if you need to be induced, your options are limited and you may still end up with a c-section, but at least you can say you tried. 😁

How long since your last section if its less then a year definitely wouldn't risk a vbac but otherwise depends how many kids  you want in the future as you can only have 3 maybe 4if your lucky  c-sections before they decide you should have your tubes tied

my experience was similar to Kryatle's. and I am with her about doing your research. I went to one of the two doctors in my city that perform VBACS and he made me feel confident that I could have a successful one since I progressed the whole way through Labor with my first baby. they did a lot of things to me that I knew weren't right and I knew I didn't want but I was just so tired and in pain that I didn't speak up. I had my membrane's stripped at 38 weeks that put me into labor immediately. which I truly feel was it real labor. when I got to the hospital they administered pitocin which studies suggest lead to increased chances of cesareans and because of the pitocin I needed an epidural because the pain was so terrible. I told him I didn't want an epidural but got one anyway and study suggests that that can also lead to a cesarean. Now I know that the studies aren't end-all-be-all and things work out for some women in their able to give birth vaginally but in my case I feel that if I wouldn't have had all of those interventions I would have been able to successfully deliver. anyway I ended up being carted back for a cesarean when I failed to progress and I don't know if it was the Hysteria or if I could actually feel them cutting me but it was a complete mess and I was put to sleep. so my only advice is to educate yourself advocating for yourself and have someone who is able to advocate for you when you are in so much pain that you can't for yourself.

I just gave birth 4,weeks ago tried for vbac but had 2 natural and 2 emergency wanted to try vbac consultant said no problem told me pros & cons  I was induced big mistake I was not monitored properly midwife in her teens no children said I was 9 cm and to start pushing I kept saying didn't feel right she kept saying it's cause it was over 10 years since I last pushed I forgot the feeling had me pushing for 3.5 hours I was in agony dr came and checked me I was only 4cm and my scar had started to tear I've never felt pain like it hubby was told he could loose us both took 45 mins to get epidural in cause the pain was constant along with contractions and throwing up ended up being knocked out cause even after epidural I could still feel the pain so my thought have gone right down about vbac. Only reason wanted v bac was cause want a big family this has now stopped any chance luckily we only have to wait 3 month b4 they say can start again but after 4 weeks I'm still in so much pain after the horrendous labour be careful if u do and slight pain where scar is tell them put your foot down and don't get a epidural as u need to feel the pain to make sure it's the right pain all the best
