I hit the nurse while having my baby! 🤷‍♀️

Ma

So here's my birth story...

I had a 39 weeks appointment on 8/21/17. My feet were very swollen as well I was accompanied with a headache that I had for more than 24 hrs. My blood pressure ended up being high and so my Dr sent me to labor and delivery to be monitored. We got to the hospital around 6 pm after eating and they put me in triage and monitored my bp and it was getting back to normal. I was thinking they are definitely sending us home since I wasn't due until 8/26/17 and also because my cervix was completely closed I know my body wasn't ready for labor just yet. The Dr comes in and explains to me that even though my bp and all my lab work is looking good that she doesn't want to send me home and have something happen and I was already 39 weeks so baby was full term. So they set me up in a room, I put on the gown and around 10 pm they put cervidil in. I started having cramps almost 2 hours into it and I have a very low pain tolerance and I knew as soon as it got worse that I wanted the epidural. I got the epidural around 4 pm the next day (8/22/17) And after that I was sailing and I had the best sleep I have ever had since being pregnant lol i had only dilated to 3 cm that whole day. Around 2 am the next day 8/23/17 my monitor was beeping for more fluid In my iv so I called the nurse in and she said she was going to check my cervix. So she does her thing and smiles at me and tells me I was 10 cm dilated. I was in shock! My legs were completely numb but I knew every time I was having a contraction because I would get an intense amount of pressure on my bottom. So we start pushing around 3:30 am, it was easy at first until the contractions got very strong and the worst happened...my epidural wore off. I ended up feeling every single thing!! I was screaming and crying and hyperventilating. I never had been in so much pain in my life and I was exhausted from pushing so much. I got a little bit grumpy and had a pillow over my face trying to distract myself. I assumed my boyfriend was still beside me on my right side and all i remember was the Dr telling me she was going to help me take her out with a vacuum and I started hitting my boyfriend out of pain but as soon as my baby girl came out I took the pillow off and noticed that I was hitting the nurse! I had felt so bad but my baby girl was finally on my chest. I kept apologizing to the nurse. I tore and so I had to get a good amount of stitches and I felt every single one of them. The pain was terrible but so worth finally seeing my little princess! Emma was born at 5:23 am weighing 6.9 lbs and was 19.5 inches. As soon as I had her they had to take her to nicu unfortunately because she had fluid In her lungs and wasn't breathing so well on her own. It is now 8/24/17 and we are both still in the hospital and she is looking alot better! I can't wait to take my angel home ❤️❤️
