Just don't go to like some rundown shack where they probably aren't following health codes and you should be fine lol. The idea is that the steak gets hot enough on the outside to kill the bacteria.

That being said from a strickly health code stand point steak has bactia on the outside which gets cooked off unlike hamburger which has it been blended together.
