Should i go back to school or do what my ex told me to do and go work at sam's club for minimum wage?

He told me not to go to college, made me drop out of the summer semester of community college and then argued with me when i transferred to a 4 year and had a decent gpa, then he made me drop out of summer semester and told me to go work at sams club instead. I dont enjoy being a cashier (i worked at mcdonalds in the past) and i hate working for under $20 an hour the rest of my life. Should i listen to him or go to school like i want to? I feel like he doesnt want me to be happy even though id pay off my own loans and i get so tired after studying i dont care to cheat. So what the heck should i do?
