cartilage piercing??

guys, help! im like on the urge of getting my cartilage done. but i dont know how bad it hurts..because its Cartilage!! haha. someone give me advice if i should get it or not and what happens after (infections..pain..etc):)

Is the top one the one you want? Because their are literally so many "cartilage" piercings.

You're probably wanting the helix I'm guessing. Do you have all your vaccines? Because it hurts about the same amount as getting a vaccination, the needle poking through and then kind of a stinging hot sensation.
To get your piercing you should be going to a TATTOO shop. They usually do piercing in those. Do NOT go to claires or anywhere where they pierce with a gun. Unless you want cauliflower ear, your cartilage to shatter, have some of your ear cut off due to bad infections, etc. Just don't. They should pierce you with a needle that's in a package.
The process is something like this:
You talk about placement. So where do you want it? Can it even be pierced there (some piercings need a certain anatomy)? Etc. And then the piercer will take a swab and clean out the area getting pierced to avoid infection. They'll place a dot, they'll let you look. If you don't like where it's going to be pierced? TELL HIM! Then youll sit or lay down, they'll usually tell you to breathe in and out deeply, then on the third out breath they'll pierce you.
If you have a good piercer it should be almost as quick as the gun. My piercing was. I watched dozens of YouTube videos and it always seemed so long but I literally was like "wait I'm done?" When I was done.
You should shop around for your piercer. But whatever you do: DONT SHOP BASED ON PRICES. I get it, a cheap $20 helix sounds better than a $107 helix (that's what mine costed). But that's sometimes a great way to get a botched piercing.
So instead ask questions that you should get the same answers too:
Should I use tea tree oil on my piercing? (If they say yes, run)
What should I clean it with? (Some shops have a solution, so keep a list of the ingredients and search t up. But commonly you'll get "a saline solution or PunkMedicsAftercare")
How long will it take to fully heal? (6-12 months)
what are you going to pierce it with? (NEVER A HOOP ALWAYS A STUD!)
How long should I clean my piercing for? (This one kinda varies but usually 6 months)
Can I sleep on it? (No)
Etc.

My cartilage piercing was my worst piercing yet!!! It didn't initially but the healing process is aweful!!! Just keep in mind it takes a while lol

That area should always be pierced with a needle as a gun can shatter it. It doesn't feel great but it's just for a brief moment then mine just felt hot and a bit tender for a day or 2. I've took all my piercings out now I want them back 😒

Mine didn't really hurt. It was just like a pinch, and then it started to feel hot for a few minutes. I just suggest that you go to a real piercer who uses a needle and not a gun.
