How to i go about asking my DR office about finding out the gender via blood test?

Just ask them if they offer genetic screening through the blood test. The blood panel isn't just for "gender."  It's to look for genetic disorders, and gender happens to be revealed with the test since it looks for gender specific disorders.

it's called NIPT. they might not have mentioned it because most insurances don't cover it, but they do cover the NT test, which doesn't tell you the gender. but it doesn't hurt to ask! and there is always the company called Sneak Peek. i think it costs $75 and you send them a sample of your blood and they send you the gender results in a few weeks.

I went about it like this. Through all my pregnancies I've always had a screening done between 13-15 weeks for Down syndrome, it's an ultrasound scan. I suggested we do the blood test for the genetic testing and she was all
Good with it. She told me that it would probably cost me $350 (the max) because I wasn't high risk or over 35. Which is whatever, I went through with it. Found out that baby has no chromosomal defects and it's a baby boy!!

Go to your genetics Doctor. When I got blood work done for other problems, she asked me if I also wanted to know the sex of the baby and I said yes, so that's how I found out 🙂
