Birthing ball?

I've been looking into getting a "birthing ball" to help relieve some of my back pain during my final trimester and for labor when the time comes. Is a birthing ball the same thing as an exercise ball? Any recommendations on brand or where to buy? Thanks in adavnce!

Yes it's the same thing. I bought mine used for $5. As long as it holds air it'll be good.

Just make sure you get one that fits your height. I'm tall, so an average ball didn't fit. Same if your short. There are guides online.

I had back labor for my first son...sitting on the ball and having my hubby press into my lower back was such a relief!!! Definitely better than laying on the bed or just sitting/standing through contractions.

It's the same thing. I sit on mine and do light weights it just roll my hips around - it's great! Hope to use it for labor as well.

I just use my exercise ball same thing really,best position to help ease your back is kneel down with the ball in front of you and lean on it with your arms stretched out in front, rocking back and forth.

It has been amazing for me in my third trimester. It literally takes all the weight off! I suggest getting a weighted one- it helps keep it from rolling away you! Mine came from Dicks Sporting Goods.
