When to start birthing classes

Question

In 25 weeks pregnant and my ob hasn't mentioned anything about birthing classes when can I start and how can I get started or signed up I would really like to go this is my first baby and I want every good and bad experience

Dont count on doctors to bring it up. Sometimes they forget or it doesn't occur to them. Bring it up or do your own research.

I'm going at 34 weeks. My doctor has asked me a few times if I booked a class but he's thorough about everything.

Mine gave me a folder with a bunch of pamphlets during my first visit, and there was one for a childbirth class in there. We never talked about it after, but I eventually booked the class. My hospital offers classes, too, as do some maternity stores. You can just do research on your own or ask your doctor for recommendations. The instructor of my class recommends taking it about 2 months before your due date, but I think that's somewhat flexible.

I'm 34 weeks & have my first childbirth class tomorrow. My dr never said anything about it either but I went to the hospitals website & saw that they offered it so we called to set it up & this was the first available they had.

My doctor brought it up and gave me the number for some. Unfortunately I got a call from the instructor saying not enough people signed up so they were canceling the classes. They're mailing me copies of the slides and the booklets, but the hands on experience would've been so nice

Interesting - at my first prenatal appointment my ob told me to call at 28 weeks and book the class.  I'd start with the hospital you plan to deliver at and see if they have a class.  Good luck!

I'm 32 and my doctor hasn't said anything either.. You have to bring it up with your doctor many of them don't bring it up anymore.. Ask your doctor about it and where you can go most hospitals offer classes but some don't.
