What should baby sleep in?

Question

First time mom and I'm looking for something for our baby to sleep in. We want her in our room for the first year so looking for something smaller than a full sized crib. Debating between a bassinet or mini crib...
Being that she will only be in it for 3-5 months I don't want anything too expensive if going with a bassinet type option. Thanks!!!

If you want them in it for the first year, I would say crib/mini crib. Babies grow out of bassinets fairly quickly (3-4 months maybe depending on the size of your little one). Personally, I don't think pack n plays are good for long term use. First off, they aren't created for that purpose so they physically don't hold up as well as something that was created for long term use, a crib. And you can get affordable cribs that are about the same cost as a pack n play. Plus, they have a higher SIDS risk, and are just as big, if not bigger than a crib/mini crib. They are however, great for traveling 🤷‍♀️ just my thoughts

We did a rock n play for the first 6 months or so. It was a lifesaver, and super cheap.

There is like a side car type crib that worked awesome for us. Its small and it folds down. Not sure if the one we got was good for once they climb, but they must make one. I don't remember the brand. Arms reach maybe?

IKEA sells a small mini crib that lots of people convert to a co sleeper that attaches to the bed. That's a good option :)

if you're comfortable with Co-sleeping, this is a great option that worked well for us.  we used it for naps at Grandma's and portable changing too. very versatile.
