Which medication really helped with your anxiety or depression?  Please explain how.  Thanks!

I took Zoloft for my anxiety for three years until I hit a wall where the only dose that was helping with anxiety was giving me some anger issues and massive headaches. I'm currently on lexapro which has not only helped with my anxiety but also my auditory sensory issues. I don't get overwhelmed by sounds as easily anymore. I've been on lexapro for like... 3-4 years now and it works great for me.

Its different for each person. Finding the right cocktail can take months to years.   My cocktail consists of  wellbutrin, lemictal, seroquel, and cbd oil (cannabis derived). The cbd oil has replaced klonopin. These all work extremely well together. I've been on others (Xanax. Zoloft, risperidone) and have had extreme side effects (weight gain, lactating breasts, increased depression).

St. John's Wart/Amorin, it's been helping more with my depression than anything else, and I've been on EVERYTHING. Plus, it's herbal!

Generalized AD - lexapro 20 mg
Started off at 2.5 my doctor had me break a 5mg in half to get my body use to the medication because I’m very sensitive to them. And I worked my way up with nothing but positive effects. 
Panic attacks/ agoraphobia- 0.5 Ativan as needed 
These two work perfect for me actually ive been on the Ativan for over two years it’s habit forming to some if you allow it to be. ( which I don’t )
The lexapro I’ve been on it for over a year now and it basically takes care of 90% of it with some bad days that I do have to take an Ativan for extra panic around my periods and ovulation and stuff!   
I also was seen at the neuro science lab in Boston so that’s was their recommendation and it works perfect perfect

I don't use a medication, but I have Peace & Calming Young Living Essential Oil that brings me down! It's been huge for me lately!! 💕

kind of an oldish thread but i've been on lexapro (which worked for a bit then stopped working after about 6 months), zoloft (which almost IMMEDIATELY made me even more depressed and incredibly suicidal), and then cymbalta which i've been on since december 2016. had to adjust dosage a lot and along with therapy & some lifestyle changes, i'm coping a lot better now in terms of depression and GAD. i also take xanax as needed for panic attacks (i was on klonopin for a bit but that stuff is strong as h*ck and knocked me out instantly). hope this could help! (: (ps i am 18 and started taking medication in march 2016 when i was 16)
