First apartment questions !!

Okay so i don't know if this sounds dumb but if a place says it's 800$ a month, utilities or whatever included, am I going to be paying 800$ or is there taxes? Also, how much do you think I should make a month to be able to afford to live on my own? I'm not moving out any time soon, my school just doesnt teach us these things and this is the kind of stuff I'd prefer to know before I graduate.
