How do you know you're in love?

Was it gradually something that happened over time or was it love at first sight? Do you remember when you said it? 
How did you know that you went from liking to loving this person?

falling completely in love took time, but I knew within hours that I was falling in love with my husband. it was a feeling that I'd never had before in my life.

I would catch myself looking at him when he wasn't looking and just smiling thinking how happy he made me. I would randomly remember something cute he said and it would just make me feel so good and loved. I also realized that I wanted to spend all my free time with him, I would spend almost every night at his house, I loved cuddling and just everything about being with him. He actually said I love you first but I believe I felt it before he did. I just didn't want to freak him out because I felt it was too soon to say it. He felt the same but eventually he couldn't keep it to himself. Hearing those words when you feel it too is amazing.

I think it takes time. At first its just lust and admiration. Love is once you know the person inside and out and still care hugely about them and they still make you happy. It was at least 6 months before we said it. But 6 months of seeing each other everyday and sleeping in the same bed every night.
