why is he so hungry?

My 5 month old ate 4.5 oz 2.5.hours ago and just now ate 6 oz (breastmilk). He usually eats 3 oz every 2 hours. I realize he is needing more because he is bigger, but because he won't nurse very often and I mostly pump, I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up 😕

It could be a growth spurt! My daughter eats more during them as well. He also may just need to be eating more at a time too. My daughter is three months old and typically eats 4-5 oz every 2 hours.

definitely a growth spirt. my 3 month old will eat 6 oz at a feeding so 3 seems like not enough.  i supplement formula while also he gets whatever breast milk i can pump
