The best and scariest day of my life
On October 6, 2014 I was induced a week early. So that my husband could meet our son at his basic training graduation. (My son is named after my brother in law who passed away at 22 months from Addison's disease. We were told not to name him that because the name was cursed.) I was in labor for 19 and a half hours. I pushed for 3 and a half hours. He was face up and couldn't come out. My midwife tried to literally turn him. She knew he most likely wouldn't come out. She decided it was time for a c-section. I was petrified. While they peeped the OR they left the Pitocin on by accident. Babies heart rate started dropping. I had lost so much blood I couldn't even think, and literally could not move the nurses had to move me. That was when my mother in law took charge and started calling the shots. I passed out during the surgery. I didn't have the energy to stay awake. My son was born Barney purple, no pulse and unresponsive. My mother in law took it hard she thought he was dead. They kicked her out of the room to get more nurses in there. It took an hour for them to bring him out to be weighed. He almost didn't make it because of his heart issues. When he was brought out to be weighed he still had blue in his skin. I didn't get to see my son until he was a 20 hours old. And none of the nurses would tell me why or what was going on. I didn't get to have the first family picture just hours after he was born with my husband out child and my self. My son was 16 days old when he met his dad. The day I gave birth to my son was almost the day I said goodbye. And I never take a single day for granted because i know how quickly it can be taken away!
