Forward Facing?

Hello! Why is everyone so eager to get their child in a forward Facing car seat? I'm not mommy shaming I just don't understand what the difference is? Thanks!

nope.. not in any hurry, nor looking forward to it. our daughter is 11 months old and I'm planning to have her rear facing at least til 4 years old, maybe even 6. who knows.. rear facing is safest way and to me that's enough. she's rear facing. yea, she cries, I don't care. she's safest that way. (ps, I know straps are loose, I did it and wanted to snap a pic before she woke up)

Some babies prefer facing forward and don't fuss or cry as much when they're turned. It's an understandable reason to want to switch asap when you're on a longer trip and your child is screaming bloody murder behind you. I'll be switching when he reaches the height/weight limit since mine isn't bothered that much by rear-facing.

Mostly because people either don't know or don't care that it's safer to rear face as long as possible. My daughter is turning two in a few weeks and still rear facing. No plans to change that anytime soon. She's still well within the rear facing limits of her seat and will likely stay that way until she's 3-4.
