longer string during period? please answer!

I have IUD in for almost a month and started on my period. I checked the string since I wanted to make sure the IUD is still there. and the string is super long :/ I started to freak out but I don't know if this is common or not during period..

You can always go back to your gynecologist and ask them to cut the string. I had to go back and have them cut it twice... boyfriend is a little on the large side... nothing wrong with getting it cut for your comfort.

I believe it's normal because your cervix position moves around during your cycle, but keep checking it! This happened to me, but mine ended up expelling so I had to get it replaced. Now I have a period that has lasted 2 weeks, so I think this mirena is working. Don't worry, just keep checking! And give an update!
