I hate my fiance's last name

Ok so I know this might sound really selfish but my partner had his last name changed to Clark when he was younger and now he's talking about changing it back to Bavington which was his dad's surname. he's never had a relationship with his dad or even wanted one because he was violent to his mom, but has got close to some of his cousins recently and I think that's why he wants to change it.. but for so long I've imagined being Mrs Clark and I hate the name Bavington, and I can't imagine our future kids having that last name either.. how am I supposed to talk to him about this without coming across as really selfish and judgmental? I also think his mom and step dad might feel hurt if he changes his name back to Bavington
