Anyone breastfeeding?

Just curious as to any of the new April mommy's are breastfeeding thier new arrival? I'd like to know how it's going... I know the first few weeks are the hardest, and a little support goes a long way. My little one had to spend a week in the NICU, so our breastfeeding journey started off Rocky with me having to pump my breastmilk into production. He's been home a week now... And we are just now getting to an exclusively breastfeeding relationship. Tonight he even latched and fed without the nipple shield😁

I've seen 4 lactation nurses//doctors I'm not producing enough only an oz combined! And she latched on in the beginning, now she won't at all so I just pump and feed! But try at least ever night for her to latch, she just falls asleep, regardless night or day! But keep up the good work! 😁

I've been breastfeeding and sometimes I feel as if it's all I do. My LO doesn't seem to open his mouth wide enough so the initial latch is painful sometimes. However, I know how to adjust his latch while he is feeding so it's not so bad. There are days and times during everyday that he just seems to wanna nurse constantly. Last night I kept switching from 1 boob to the other, with small breaks for burping and changing, for over 2 hours! I know sometimes he just wants comfort and part of me wants to try a pacifier but everyone says its better to wait a few weeks to introduce one. At least my LO is as sweet as can be so I guess I can forgive him for anything. I know the breastfeeding will get better as he becomes more efficient and can nurse more quickly. It's just the early stages that are the most difficult. Thank goodness I have maternity leave to get us started and on a good schedule! Keep working thru the difficulties ladies, were in the most difficult part and if we can get thru it, it will be smooth sailing in a few weeks!

I am. I was doing fine in the beginning, now I'm having trouble.  My boobs are huge, I can only get my daughter to latch onto one of them. My right breast is so engorged that it feels feverish. I emailed my lactation specialist and I'm waiting for her. I know this is hard but I don't know if I can do this... I can stand hearing my child cry and scream bc I can't get her to latch. I know it's not her and it's something I'm doing wrong. Help me

Yea my lactation lady said not to worry just burp. They will start to gauge how much they should eat soon n your boob will stop producing as much.

I am trying to but he wont latch! I had a Csection and my milk did not come right away, so nurses gave him formula for two days. Now we have been home for 3 days and I am producing milk, but he gets frustraded and so do I, I am pumping constantly and feed him with it, but i would love it if he could just latch. Do you recomend using a nipple shield?how does it work? Thank you!

I am breast feeding and my little man was in the NICU for the first 2 days until we got released so I know where your coming from. I had to get up every three hours and walk to the NICU while we were in the hospital and didn't get the opportunity to feed until about 24 hours and no skin to skin after birth. I think because of that my milk was delayed coming in he lost 10oz and I had to supplement wite formula and as much milk as I could pump. He is almost 2 weeks old and my milk finally came in he gained 8oz in a week and eating like a champ! Breastfeeding is definitely hard! Sometimes I just want to give up and give him a bottle but I know I am doing what is best for him! I am also using the nipple shield and trying to get him off it it now.

We are breast-feeding at our house. My breast have become enlarged because of my Milk coming in. I too soaked through one of my sides of clothing yesterday. It happened while I was napping, I thought that was pretty funny. I have yet to start pumping, but know that I probably should. I don't know why am kind of nervous about doing that.
