Irregular periods and clomid?

Just received my first prescription for Clomid from my consultant but I have very irregular periods. I can't remember if my doc said I need to have a period before I take them?? Can anyone help please!!!! TIA

I've actually didn't have a period before I took Fertomid, which is like Clomid. Dr did a scan and said it should be fine, went back and had follicles growing so it definitely worked. just not sure when to test for pregnancy now lol

You usually are directed to take clomid at certain times during you're cycle. The days usually consist of a five pill series. For instance I take clomid 150mg cycle day 5-9, so depending on your doctor they could recommend the same time frame or even cycle days 1-5,2-6,3-8 but they never have you take clomid later then 5-9. I have PCOS and have been TTC for 14 months lol so I like to think I'm a bit of a pro at it. I've spent a good majority of my time doing as much research as I could. So I would contact your doctor and tell them. When I first started taking clomid I needed my period to be induced by provera, they waited till I got to cycle day 30 and then they prescribed it, so there is a chance your doctor is waiting to see if your period starts naturally. So make sure you're keeping track your your cycles. ✨💕✨💕✨💕

Usually if you don't get regular period your doc would prescribe provera to jump start your period that's what mine did. You can't take clomid till you have your period though.
