How long after birth to name child?

We have a girl name but not a boy name yet 😬 how long after birth do we have to name the child if it's a boy?!? 💙

I'm not 100% certain but in the uk we don't have to register the baby for up to two weeks for the birth certificate so I'm guessing that long. No idea though!

Jenny you're in the same predicament as me!!! Are you not finding out gender??
We aren't. And we've had girl name picked out for like 3mos now. And cannot settle on a boy name 😭 I feel like it's gonna be a boy now just cause it'll be harder cause they'll pull baby out and we'll just look at each other like I dunno? 🤷🏻‍♀️

They suggest filling out the paperwork before leaving the hospital you don't absolutely have to. The people told me they strongly suggest it because if you forget to send it in then he/she doesn't have a social security number and it will be hard to get it after the fact. The hospital will file everything (SSN and birth certificate) for you.
