Too attached to baby?

Question

Is it possible to be too attached to my daughter? I want her to be in my sight at all times. She's currently two months old and my first child. We co-sleep, however husband wants to start putting her in her crib (next to our bed). I cried for probably 5 minutes after putting her in there, even though she looked peaceful. Is there something wrong with me?

I think you're just worried and I think it's normal. Once she's older and can do more things on her own in sure you'll feel more relaxed. Nothing is wrong with you! You're just a very loving parent.

Same boat 😓 she sleeps in the crib right next to the bed (arms reach) and I always am either holding her hand or I end up bringing her in the bed with us when she wakes for feeding and she'll sleep with us. During the day I feel like I'm constantly holding her. I have a feeling we're (I'm) gonna have trouble

Sounds like you have a healthy, strong attachment with your baby and a normal amount of new mama anxiety. I cried whenever my baby left my arms for the first few months. Dads sometimes take longer to bond/don't have the same attachment to baby. Their hormones are different and we get a head start with pregnancy and breastfeeding. My husband felt the same way about the crib. I told him when he births our next baby he can decide where that one sleeps ;)

Very normal! I haven't left my 4 month old with anyone but her dad or aunt for more than an hour. We have a wedding this weekend and I'm dreading leaving her 😫 I was this way with my first also. Momma bear instincts!

Lol no I think it's a good thing, my boy is six months and I'm this way. It goes by so fast, just enjoy.

No there is nothing wrong with but keep in mind that the long you allow this to happen is can affect your relationship with your SO and the baby as well when they start to get bigger and older. I would say start slow like every other night put the baby in the crib that is by the bed. And tell your self that tomorrow the baby gets to sleep in bed with you. As time goes on start to do two night crib and one night bed. Eventually your baby will be able to sleep by then selfs in the crib and you won't feel like you do now. Plus your SO might want some attention from you like cuddling or pillow talk just you two because he waited for the baby to fall asleep.
