My Story🐣
Wyatt is now 6 days old and I finally have the time to share my birth story!
-------
Had my weekly check up at 35 weeks 5 days and had an ultrasound. Little man was measuring 6lbs 4oz and I was 4cm dilated and 50% effaced.
Had a few ER scares over the next few weeks. Consistent contractions yet no change in dilation..
Oh also to mention I had been on the Makena shot since 16 weeks and ended it at 35.
At my 37 week check up I was still 4cm dilated but 70% effaced and my doctor said he was measuring a little under so for me to have another ultrasound at 38 weeks. Two more ER trips for awful back pain and contractions and still nothing.
38 week appointment and ultrasound and he is measuring 7lbs 11oz and as my doctor is checking me he's asking if I can feel these contractions and of course I can! They haven't stopped! But guess what? 4cm dilated and 85% effaced.
So we start talking induction. I already have a 3 year old at the house who it's getting harder and harder to take care of. Induction is scheduled for Monday, September 4th at 5am (Labor Day!) We get there early (nerves were crazy) and sit in the parking lot for 30 minutes. We walk in at 4:55 and they start an IV for fluids and say the doctor will be there at 7am. My MIL and FIL show up around 6 and my mother finally gets there at 7:30, 5 minutes after the doctor. So my doctor comes in and checks me finally around 8:20. I'm 5cm and 100% effaced so he breaks my water and starts the smallest dose of pitocin. He checks me again immediately after breaking my water and I am now 7cm! He says he'll be back to check me around noon so I'm thinking things are going to slow down. And after he broke my water I started having the most horrible, painful contractions. Well the nurses leave the room and it's just me and my family. Not even 5 minutes later I have the urge to push with every contraction so I begged my MIL (she had the call button) to call my nurse but she didn't believe me so it took maybe 4 minutes of begging for her to finally call. My contractions are hitting pretty much back to back now. My nurse comes in and checks me and she looks up, says I'm complete and ready to push! We do two practice pushes and she tells me to stop halfway through the second because his head was right there! She texts my doctor and he walks in the door at 9am on the dot (I'm watching the clock cussing him in my head at the time) He gets suited up and I push three times and he's born screaming! His daddy goes and cuts his umbilical cord and hits the ground passed out after blood shoots out. Wyatt weighed 7lbs 8oz and 20 1/2 inches long! (My first was 4lbs and 17 inches as he was a preemie)

Proud daddy!💙

It's been hectic at home but I'm happy! My 3 year old absolutely loves his baby brother! Wyatt actually lost his umbilical stump yesterday so he had his first bath, he HATED it. Poor thing. Breastfeeding is hard but I love it. I love the closeness and bonding. Even if I haven't slept in 4 days😂
