TMJ or something else?

Please help! one side of my jaw muscle is swollen (like a charley horse). It feels tight and it hurts to open or swallow. VERY pain full. Does anyone have any insight that might help? I think its either TMJ or impacted wisdom tooth. Feels like someone punched me in the face!
p.s. in debt with lots of medical bill would like to not go in if i dont have to

no i dont have dental. and its not noticeably swollen. the muscle almost seems like a charley horse.

Ive never had swelling with my tmj. Sounds more like wisdom tooth issue

Tmj doesn't cause swelling in my experience, you need to be careful bc it sounds like an infection and a bad enough infection can get into your blood stream. Do you have dental insurance? They shouldn't charge you for an exam
