has anyone heard of pumping while pregnant?

has anyone started pumping around 37-38wks to try and get your milk to come in early and build a supply up? i dont know if this even a thing you can do. with my first i pumped only but had to suppliment with formula for the 1st week. this time around i would like to find a way to build up a supply before hes born.

you cannot make yourself produce milk only delivering the placenta signals your body to begin  to produce milk

Pumping before birth won't make your body produce milk or increase your colostrum supply.
Pumping causes uterine contractions and can be as strong as pitocin. Pumping while pregnant would really risk inducing labor.

Thanks for the comments so far ladies. As uncomfortable as i am at 36wks i def dont want to do anything that will make him come any sooner than his due date.

It will only be colostrum until the placenta detaches. Because pumping can bring on strong contractions, ask your doctor first. I am 30 weeks with my second and exclusively pumped with my first, unexpectedly. I always had to work to bring my supply up last time, so this time I am pumping after the very first feed and every feed after, even if just for 5 minutes.
