Trusted my mum but she told anyway. Would you be pissed?

I practically begged my mum not to tell anyone I'm pregnant as I'm early on (only 9 weeks) and young (19) so didn't want the judgement yet. I wanted to tell people in my own time, but she went behind my back and told my brothers and her husband. I feel betrayed because I trusted her with something this big and it wasn't her news to tell. Her excuse was 'well they'd find out eventually anyway'. Yeah in MY own time. I found this hurtful but she just told me to not come home if I'm gonna argue. Am i overreacting?

My Mum did the same thing when I was pregnant with my Son. It's completely unfair and she betrayed my trust. Being young and pregnant is hard enough without having to worry about other people. Take care lovely 💕

If this is any consolation... I ran up the stairs and showed my husband the pregnancy test and we were thrilled. I then said ok we aren't telling anyone until after 12 weeks ok?? Promise and he said ok promise. No word of a lie 30 seconds later he is taking pictures of the pregnancy test I left on the counter and sending it to his friends. I said wtf did we just agree to?? He said it's ok it's just my friends. Its like it went in one ear and out the other .... over it now but still at the moment I was like what the actual fuck?

I think in this situation I would definitely voice my opinion as far as spilling the tea... and not tell her specifically the things that you want to tell on your own time in the future. That was not fair at all but to argue or fight over it is not worth it.

I would be rip shit. I had almost the same situation except it was at work with a coworker. Im a nurse assistant so it was important to tell a few people at work I was pregnant so that they could help me if I needed it and they'd understand why but I was only telling the 5 people I directly always work with. So what does one girl do?! Tells LITERALLY the next four people who walk by not even five minutes after I finished having the conversation with them about wanting to be quiet about it for a while because I was only 8 weeks. Within a month everyone in the building knew word of mouth. 🙄
