Who buys the lube?

I recently asked you guys whether I should use lotion or lube if I want to give my boyfriend a hand job. Everyone said lube because it will be safe if we ended up having sex.

I'm actually pretty new to this whole sex life. We have been daiting for almost 7 months and we are in college.

I kianda wanted to surprise him giving him a hand job since he has been really upset and stressed so if I ask what lube should I get or if he should get it then it would defeat the purpose. But I guess it has to be done if we want to avoid pregnancy.

So my question is, do I get the lube, does he get the lube, do I ask him what lube I should get or do I just ask him to get whatever lube he wants?

I have no idea the prices of lube so if they are expensive I will feel bad asking him to buy it because he is having financial issues for a while now.
