Pregnancy announcement to family?

Hello! So this will have two parts. The first being the situation and the poll for your opinions. My husband wants to throw a BBQ to announce to our family (both our moms, his brother/sister in law and his sister) but I feel like my mom should get to know first... I'm her only child and her and I are very close and I think it may upset her to not be the first to know. Please let me know your opinions below and answer the poll!

The second part is, if we were to do this, does anyone have any cute ideas of how to tell everyone? Cakes? Cookies? Anything??
