Will it hurt?!!

Okay so , I am a virgin and have never done anything more with anyone then kiss. So the other day my friend told me she got fingered by her boyfriend (we're close friends so we tell each other things). She said it hurt at first because she wasn't used to the feeling but then it felt good and it's made me really scared for when I eventually allow someone to do that. Will it hurt?
