Methods of Sleep Training.

Rebecca

Okay. so I've seen quite a few posts on here about mommy's having trouble with their LOs sleeping and looking for advice on what they might be doing wrong. I have an 8 month old and the thing is I know what I'm doing wrong. Okay. 1) I've probably spoiled her with the rocking to sleep and putting her in her swing. I can let her fall asleep in the swing, pick her up to rock her, but once I put her in her crib she KNOWS she's not moving anymore and just continues to cry til I come get her. 2) It's possible I get her too soon. I could try the CIO method but I honestly don't like hearing my poor baby cry (especially when she cries out "Momma" after saying "Dada" all day long) 3) She sleeps all day!! Which I'm sure it's because we get crappy sleep at night. Wakes up at 4am=bottle and back to sleep til 7am. 7am wakes up for daddy (because he works graveyards) goes back to sleep at 9am. 12pm ready to eat. back to sleep by 2pm. sleeps til about 4 or 5pm. sometimes 6pm!! stays awake til 10 11 and sometimes 12!! And all over again at 4am. I know I know. Cut out some of those naps. Make them shorter naps. . put her down earlier for bed...my question to you ladies is HOW?! how do you make an already over tired baby stay awake and skip naps. how do you make a baby who's NOT ready for bed...go to bed?! how do i put her to bed early when my husband doesnt wake up til 9pm for work (and is very noisy gettong dressed so he wakes her up anyway) how do I start the sleep training process? do I just go for it?Or easy in to it? Because this whole her sleeping with me every night is sweet and precious.. but also a nightmare! pure torture!! Please. anything will help. advice, letting me know you're in the same boat, or encouragement! SOMEBODY JUST PLEASE TELL ME THIS WONT LAST LONG!!
