Sister wants to know how I'll explain it to my daughter ?

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and my sister is lesbian and married to her wife. Today she asked me how I'll explain it to my daughter because she wants to know and hear to approve. I'm just super confused by this I don't think I'll explain anything unless my daughter ask, which I know she probably will eventually. I also don't think she can "approve" what I'll tell my daughter.

She can't approve what you tell your daughter and there's no reason to make a point out of your sister being in a same sex marriage unless your daughter asks.

Simple just tell her they love each other. Kids are very simple minded and understanding.. she probably won't even ask

I don't think you need to go out of your way to explain to your daughter unless she asks (eventually she might but kids won't think something is abnormal until you/someone point it out to them as different)  and frankly it isn't your sister's child so she doesn't really get to "approve" the talk, that seems very micro-managing to me.

I know it's not family, so maybe it's different, but my family is surrounded by same sex couples. None of the kids have ever needed an explanation, they just know Jacob has two daddies and Jamie has two mommies and that's their family because families are all different. And then they go back to coloring...

It's the same with my sister. My kids don't ask because they don't know it's anything different than two people being together out of love. The same gender question isn't even a thing for them to ask. Kids accept pretty much anything. It's the opinions of adults that they pick up from us.

That's such an odd thing for her to say. Would you "explain" why a mans and woman are married too? Kids don't need prefacing for situations they don't know aren't typical. If we keep pointing out difference and feel the need to justify it explain them, they'll keep being seen as "abnormal." Just treat the relationship as a typical one and your child will see it that way. It sounds like your sister might be slightly insecure about it, which I can totally.

Unless you would explain it in a disparaging manner, which I'm sure isn't the case, then she doesn't need to "approve." I'd have a talk with her about why she would feel the need to say that. And kids are easy to explain things to. When she asks, you will know what to say. Heck, she may not ask anything at all.

Do you mean how to explain she's married to a woman or explain how babies are made?
I could see your sister having trouble with the traditional "when a man and women..." sex talk as same sex couples don't have babies that way. However... if that's how your baby was made you shouldn't have to alter that simply to satisfy your sister. 
Explain things as much or as little as you want. She's your daughter.
