keep an open mind, i will be 44 in January, husband will be 45 in October- we had a mc Feb 2015, couldn't conceive again and started to see fertility specialist.  no luck there after a few months and decided it wasn't in the cards.  now we are 24 weeks and 2 days with a baby girl due mid January  it can happen.

I'd get fertility testing asap.  There's no reason to wait when you're over 40.   We started testing when I was 40 and I'm 41 now and currently 10w5d post IVF cycle #3.   Also you might find the book 'It Starts with the Egg' helpful.  I read it before my 3rd cycle and found it helpful in identifying a supplement and treatment protocol (acupuncture) to help increase the odds.

I'm 43, my partner is 40. 
I'm 21 weeks... conceived naturally. I still had regular periods and I fell pregnant within 7 months of trying.  
I do feel very blessed for this to happen at my age, considering the very low odds of conceiving.  So don't give up, it's very possible !!

Pregnant naturally at 45 (and he's 41) twice in last five months (first was blighted ovum) and currently 4w3d.  It's definitely worth trying.  I have had no menopause symptoms and regular cycle. Blighted ovum can happen at any age so I don't believe that to be an age related loss.     Baby dust to you.

At 43, 1 in 5 fertilized eggs is normal chromosomal. If abnormal egg implants it’s likely to end in miscarriage around 6-8 Wk’s. Because of that we went for donor egg Ivf and I’m now 19 Wk’s pregnant
