Tubes in ears?!?!

My daughter is getting tubes put in her ears soon and I really need advice on what to expect.

Make sure they have a favorite toy or snuggly and something to entertain, the waiting beforehand can be long when all they want to do is eat. Tubes are a quick surgery. It is distressing to see them come out of anesthesia. If you are exclusively breastfeeding make sure you have specific time frames for when fasting has to start. Make sure you are able to talk to the person putting them under because requirements and information can vary.  They should have snacks and drinks for when they come out of it. But just in case they don’t or your child is picky have treats you know they will eat.

I don’t know if she already got tubes but... my son got them 6 weeks ago and he’s doing great!! The it him under, but he was only gone for about 20 minutes (including the time it took to wake up). He was pretty groggy after, but he wasn’t in pain, he just wanted to snuggle a lot. Also the rest of the afternoon he was a little off balance, even when he was sitting, but by the next day he was totally normal. You’ll have to put ear drops in 2 times a day, we just did it while he was nursing so he would stay laying on his side.
The hardest part was not letting him eat anything before the surgery.
