First Birthday Opinions

So, I'm supposed to be planning my daughter's first birthday. I wanted to do something special but it seems like I'm the only person who cares about her birthday actually being special. My hubby said he would help but in the end said he didn't care and most people don't go "all out". I don't know what to do.
