Have you talked to your doctor about delayed cord clamping ?

I'd say more than most have read all the benefits of delayed cord clamping. I planned on doing it. I asked my doctor and he told me that he doesn't really recommend it and that he milks the cord toward the baby to push the blood to the baby instead of delayed clamping. He said he doesn't recommend delayed clamping (waiting until cord stops pulsing) because some times it doesn't stop pulsing for around 15-30 minutes depending, he said that he believes there are more important things to be doing in that time frame immediately after birth (like checking me for blood clots, and just making sure everything is okay with me and baby) he also said he believes milking the cord gives the same benefits and is just as good without the wait time that delayed cord clamping can bring. He explained things a lot better than I did, I just summed it up the best I could without writing a book lol. He was very nice and respectful about it as well.
