help.. with husband puttinf baby to sleep

Our baby cries everytime my husband tries to put him to sleep. Baby is 2mnths old and not use to my husband his father we are trying to train him because im soon to return to my night shift. however my husband is a stubborn as all hell and when i try to give advice as to what to do he doesn't want to listen to me and says babies gonna cry it out or gets snippy. This infuriates me, I need advice im terrified to go back to work and this issue not be settled. has anyone else gone through this? advice please and what can we do to ger him use to his father and the bedtime routine much easier without a long bout of cryin. I should add that baby has become so accustomed to me that its difficult for anyone else to put him to sleep. how can I break this habit and him allow others to put him down to sleep.
