What are some things you wish you asked before it got serious?

What are some questions you wish you asked your significant other before getting married? Or had a baby with ? Or before things got serious?

God I have so many for my kids father. Like, are you a drug addict. Are you mentally insane? Have you killed a man.. you know .. Normal things.

What are your views on spending and saving money? What plan do you have for your future financial health? Money questions are so taboo and they really shouldn't be if you plan to spend your life with someone.

I think it's always good to talk about basic things that sometimes couples look over
Where you want to live, how many kids you want, are you good with money, is divorce an option or are you looking to make it work, religious views, what religion (if either of you are) will the kids be raised in and is your SO okay with that, careers, goals in life, potential deal breakers (is it going to be hard to be married if one of you picks up gambling or ends up with a drinking problem,etc), parenting styles
Be honest and open so you both can say you have gone into your relationship/ marriage with confidence.

Well, we were friends for a long time before dating, so we knew each other pretty well already. But discussing parenting decisions *before* you decide to have kids is pretty important (we didn't until we got a surprise baby, but thankfully we agreed on most things and found compromises ) 
Do you agree on disciplinary methods? Do you agree on medical decisions? What happens if things don't work out, would you try to  settle things in or out of court? What about financial things, are you both working, is someone staying home?

I was not shy to bring up major issues with him straight up. 
I knew it was going to be serious and I wasn't going to mess around. once married. I'm married. I need to know everything.

I wish I asked what roll did my S.O expect his mom to play with our baby 
Since he likes a clean house like me was he going to help maintain it
What is his idea of family oriented 
I can go on and on lol

Luckily we talked about all the big issues. 
Kids, how many, how we'll raise them, religion and when it's brought into their lives. 
All of our illnesses (seizures, depression, anxiety etc) 
Our childhood (it was not the best of times for either of us so it brought us closer) 
Goals for jobs, if we didn't talk about it I would have left him by now. But he told me how much he was gonna work to make it "to the top" 
He makes 6 figures now, but is never around luckily I put myself in a mindset to where I can handle it. 
And OF COURSE THE BIGGEST TOPIC OF DISCUSSION! 
Your small obsessions. Mine is Deadpool and boxes his is gaming and coffee 😅
