Question

has any mommies gotten false positive for Down syndrome on the 15 week blood test? I need something to ease my mind I have an appointment with the specialist Monday so I’m wondering what the chances are that it’s wrong 😔

Which test was it?  Was it NIPT or was it the quad screening?

My MIL was told that her baby was going to have Downs Syndrom, and eould have such severe issues that she should just abort. They were going to do an amnio but he kept getting in the way so she daid screw it. what ever happens, happens. He is now 16, and the smartest person I know. Zero health issues, and was taking highschool classes in middle school.

Yes, that's what happened to me. My quad test came back with a 1/19 chance of Down's. Had an ultrasound, everything looked good. Opted for the blood test and not the amnio - blood test came back negative for all chromosome disorders so the genetic counselor put our risk of Down's at 1/1000 (better than "normal"). The quad test is terrible -some clinics don't even offer it anymore. It's a screening test, not a diagnostic.
