can she do that or question me in that way ?

So I went to the doctor today requesting to be tested for infertility. And my doctor acted as if she didn t want to do it but obviously she can t refuse it so then she proceeded to question my income and things and asked if I was going to school working how much do I make and same about my boyfriend then she told me that she recommends that I use a type of protection because I m 19 and I m young and how she has 3 kids and it s not easy I just wanted to know if she s allowed to question me like that and refuse to help me conceive a baby if I don t have the "proper income"
