You don't want to put it in too early in case you get into a fender bender which can make your cat seat unsafe.

I decided today that he'll just go get it after baby is here and install it at the hospital. we are only 15 minutes from home. no sense in driving around with it when I often hang it friends. and the nurses can help us and make sure it is in correctly.

We put the base in the car around 36 weeks but the car seat we never put in until  I was in labor and we were heading to the hospital.

This comment kinda makes me lol other than it just gets you excited installing because you kno your baby will be here soon there is no point lol 
The term installing car seat is what makes me laugh because its not hard. That term makes it sound like it's time consuming and difficult lol it's super easy to do and takes less than ten mins lol 
A better question would be when to buy one. That is the more complicating thing than "installing" it haha (I just say I set the car seat up in my car)  but no judge meant to the mamas who do it whenever that's your thing :) I just remember putting it in my car maybe 37-38 weeks because of my excitement 😊

I don't do until the day of because I will be staying with my parents while I recover and they have different cars so I don't even know on which one I will be picked up !
