How long did it take you after you got engaged to get married?

I've been engaged for about a month and I was wondering what was your wedding planning like? How long were you engaged to your SO before you tied the knot? Any advice would be great with wedding planning!

don't rush it. wedding planning can be so stressful and you want to enjoy your day, not feel like you just want it over

My husband and I got engaged June 21, 2016 and got married August 12, 2016. We both wanted a big wedding but after a month of being engaged we decided just to elope and that was the best decision ever. We didn't have to stress about making both families happy and making sure everyone could attend. We just worried about where to go for dinner afterwards lol The only thing I regret doing was purchasing a $600 dress from David's Bridal that I decided not to wear and I couldn't return it. Other than that though it was perfect for us.

we got engaged march 6th 2015 (my birthday) 
and didn't get married till June 2017. 
I would have gotten married that year but I was getting a custom made dress and I knew it would take some time. 
I also planned the whole wedding myself, and since I was having a pizza "truck" I figured booking them less of a year would be a challenge. 
on a side note anyone on cape cod who wants pizza at one of their functions I know the most incredible place! 😉

14 months - it was SO GREAT to be able to plan without stress. Knocked a little off the list each month and I was so relaxed on our wedding day. Plus we had many more venue options planning a year out.

About a month. He was leaving for bootcamp soon and after talking with a lot of the military members we knew, they all said doing it before he left would be better, if we were ready. We talked it over and decided to do it. We had known eachother for 6 Years already so I don't consider it as rushed as some do. Been married almost 3 Years
