Scary Moment, Happy Ending

Went to our 12 weeks appointment with our first and midwife couldn't find the heartbeat. We were obviously alarmed, as she began talking to us about the possibility of miscarriage. I'm a teacher so our appointment was late in the day and the ultrasound technician was gone. My midwife was a champ and called all around town for us. She found a technician at a different hospital that was willing to wait for us. My husband rushed us across town with tears in both our eyes. We were preparing as we waited in the closed technicians office. She brought up the image and there it was! Squirming all over the place! We are mentally exhausted, but thrilled to have seen our little one.
